pro- or anti-mullet?
Feb. 1 2008So one of the CT members (Andrew Garfield) decided he wanted a mullet. I don’t know what your perspective on the mullet is but I would love to know.
Are you pro-mullet or anti-mullet.
Take a look at Andrew’s attempt. I would especially like to know what the girls think since Andrew is a godly single guy it may help to know what you think.

I don’t understand the word mullet (have to look it up in the dictionary).
But if it is the way he has cutted his hair… It is okay.
mullet defined according to all of us who live in alabama:
-Business in the front but party in the back!
I am pro mullet! And I think Andrew looks great. His joyful countenance speaks of a deep love for God. I can tell he is a man of conviction, strong, true, unafraid and unshaven for Jesus. I hope you keep your mullet, Andrew. God is calling you to be a Christian Billy Ray Cyrus to our generation. I hope to meet you at NA. sigh.
Lily Thomas on Fri Feb 1, 2008 at 9:34 pmI am an anti-mullet-er but I applaud anyone with the courage and the sense of humour.
Long live the eighties!
Danielle on Fri Feb 1, 2008 at 11:27 pmI am not a lady, but that there is beautiful. Cultivate that thing.
Jeremy on Sat Feb 2, 2008 at 11:19 amOf Course pro mullet!

girl on Sun Feb 3, 2008 at 5:49 amAndrew,
Thank you for your example of godly leadership, going where few men have dared to go before. I hope to emulate your example. Now I just need to convince my wife…
Stephen Altrogge on Sun Feb 3, 2008 at 8:18 pmI have always loved you and will always love you no matter what you do to your hair, but then of course, I’m your mom!
g garfield on Mon Feb 4, 2008 at 2:48 pmBeing from Canada I am all about the classic hockey haircut.
David Younghusband on Mon Feb 4, 2008 at 3:39 pmPRO MULLET!! My favourtie t-shirt that I have says ‘Save a Rock Star, Grow a Mullet’ and if a mullet doesn’t make the lady-folk go weak at the knee then I don’t know what will! I really do think you need a handle-bar moustache to top it off.
Caitlin on Mon Feb 4, 2008 at 5:13 pmIt’s very euro!
Rebekah VanPelt on Mon Feb 4, 2008 at 5:23 pmYou wear it very well...it doesn’t work for everybody, but Andrew is workin’ it!
Adrienne Renea on Mon Feb 4, 2008 at 7:18 pmI have to represent the anit- mullet crowd. It is not a haircut that should be worn after 1990. But maybe that’s just the city girl in me coming out.... and many people seem to really like it. It must be funny seeing people’s reactions when they see the mullet in this area.
Caitlin W on Tue Feb 5, 2008 at 12:08 amWho cares what I think?! The important thing is that he’s already accepted by God… hehe, right?
But since you asked: Anti-mullet.
Abby on Tue Feb 5, 2008 at 9:27 amDear Rebekkah VanPelt,
I have never heard of the expression ‘It’s very euro’ here in Europe. It is kind of funny to read. Do you mean his hair looks more like the young people here do? The mullet would indeed be completly accepted and kind of cool here. But I think in U.S. also.
But can you tell me in what kind of situations you use the expression ‘It is kind of euro’ and what it means. We never say ‘It’s kind of dollar’, in Belgium. But we do say ‘It is very american.’ But most of the time that is not so positive. Is it the same with the expression ‘It’s kind of euro’?
No; enough said.... just.... no. That’s serious man-point lossage…

esso on Tue Feb 5, 2008 at 12:11 pmTalitha,
euro is short for European. i can’t speak for Rebekah but in most cases its a good thing. That is funny since the formation of the EU and the creation of the “euro” we may have to come up with a new word. thanks for your patience with our american culture.

eric on Tue Feb 5, 2008 at 12:48 pmThat’s no mullet! Drew, it looks like a woodland creature latched itself onto the back of your head!
[ Note: Drew caved under peer pressure and a forced photo shoot and cut the ‘mullet’ off about an hour after he...yes HE...gave it life. We were fortunate enough, however, to capture the woodland-mullet-creature in its natural habitat.]

er, no thanks. negative on the mullet.
Josh on Tue Feb 5, 2008 at 10:07 pmI have to agree with Matt...the whole thing looks pretty staged..lol...and yay for Drew cutting the mullet off!
Britt on Tue Feb 5, 2008 at 11:22 pmTalitha, eric is correct on our expression or use of the term “euro”. Generally Europeons are more fashion forward than we are and I’m afriad If I’m correct the Europeons were sporting mullets several years ago as the “in” thing and so they are probably terribly out-of-fashion there by now. by the way I’m drew’s big sis and think he is one of the hippest people I know and have had the pleasure of seeing him sport many an interesting doo.
Rebekah VanPelt on Tue Feb 5, 2008 at 11:35 pmThe most beautiful mullet I’ve ever had the privilege of viewing was 13 years in the making. You can click the link (my name) to view a picture of this massive, magnificent mullet.
Justin Buzzard on Wed Feb 6, 2008 at 12:02 amnever. ever. never. never do that again. shave it completely. now. keep it shaved for one whole year as a penance. never. ever. never. never.
matt mccarnan on Wed Feb 6, 2008 at 6:52 amPromullet but not on me :)
Josiah Robertson on Wed Feb 6, 2008 at 10:26 amEric and Rebekah!
Thank you for being patient with me and explaining ‘euro’. I learn a lot through this NA blog… For example I have also been introduced to PB&J;(sandwiches). It is good thing to get to know americans more personal than the big clichés or politics who tend to shape our image of the americans.
As for the latest euro-hairstyles I am not so much up to date. But I have seen some populair singer whose haircut is even more a ‘woodland creature’ than this mullet thing. And it exactly beautifull. So keep on going with the mullet…
A few years ago I saw everywhere the ‘Frodo hairstyle’ as I called it. The young teenage boys wore their hair long, over their ears, and as a curtain over their eyes. If you had curls it was even more fashionable. For young boys from alternative eco parents this haircut always stays. It has a kind of nonchalance and artistic look.
So enough about the hair.
Enjoy your day (mine is over and I go to sleep) and be blessed by our Father.
Rebekah take good care of your little brother with al this attention he is getting…
(I am the second youngest in a row of 5 and a very proud little sister of two older brothers)
The artist name is Ozark Henry by the way. But I think fashion is quite the same as in U.S. als in Europe. (all western countries get sadly enough more one mixed culture wher differences begin to dissapear)
Talitha on Wed Feb 6, 2008 at 4:32 pmThe mullet is certainly eye-catching.
And it would require a young lady to focus on character instead of appearance.
However, I imagine most of us would eagerly play the Delilah and shave the rest.
Abigail Joy on Wed Feb 6, 2008 at 5:43 pmDude, a mullet? Wow. Two thumbs way down. For a glimpse into the perils of mulletude, check this out: http://www.markfedeli.com-a.googlepages.com/themullet.pdf
Gatorade on Thu Feb 7, 2008 at 10:10 amDude, The 80’s called and they want their hair back!
Don on Thu Feb 7, 2008 at 1:20 pmi am going to have to agree with my friend Matt McCarnan on this one. Shave your head completely and leave it that way for a year as pennance. there is no grace for mullet woodland creatures. and that link to the 13 year “parental-guided” mullet creature is just simply a gross example of child neglect.
funny thing is, my “security word” to submit this post is “never” coincidence?? i think not.
Emily on Fri Feb 8, 2008 at 6:52 ampro. of course.
Amms on Tue Feb 12, 2008 at 3:41 pmNo one truly appreciates the cultured beauty of a mullet these days. ;)
